WHY DIRECT PRIMARY CARE (DPC)?

DPC has been a growing movement for several years. More and more, patients are finding difficulty accessing their doctors and providers, due to limited scheduling, long waitlists to be seen (even for the first visit) and phone calls that don’t get them to a person or are returned.

On the other side, doctors have been leaving medicine due to increased burn-out. This is frequently due to asks from both insurance companies and big corporations that employ them.

DPC has been the way that many patients and physicians have found to be the answer to the above issues. It has brought back the joy of practicing medicine to many, by returning to “old school medicine” when we had the time to spend with our patients. We have known for a while that time spent is what influences patient/physician relationships the most, and by extension, patient outcomes.

More recently, legislation was passed to remove barriers for patients to opt for DPC. Patients are now able to utilize their HSA funds to pay for DPC fees; this can be a big tax advantage as well.

Harvest Primary Care is excited to contribute to the DPC movement and also contribute to the health of all patients that choose us as their Primary Care home.
